Brockton Saturday morning.
Massachusetts lawmakers have launched debate on the state's most
sweeping expansion of gambling in four decades, even though Gov.
Deval Patrick has vowed not to sign the measure without
changes.
Hi all. I am trying to see where we can meet this Saturday, May 29th. There is a large activity field in Acton that may be available. Mid-morning is usually best for optimal wind conditions.

Tens of thousands of cyclists have taken to their bikes at the RONA MS Bike Tours. Some ride with friends, family, or form a team with coworkers. Some are looking for a new fitness challenge or a different way to see Ontario's beautiful countryside. No matter why they ride, all participants in the Tours come away with the knowledge that they are making a real difference in the lives of people affected by multiple sclerosis.
Beginning at Prospect Park, Acton, you will take in the breathtaking scenery as you head to the University of Waterloo for an overnight stay. Enjoy finish line festivities including a beer garden, dinner, and evening ceremonies, before returning to Acton the following morning.
We will examine how we can initiate and continue the practice of living with out judgement. We will discuss who and when we are in Grace and when we are not.We will examine where we are on our own GRACE list and support each other to put ourselves first on our GRACE list. Each meet up will end with a meditation designed to help us to move forward in our quest to live in GRACE. This is an opportunity to choose to live in peace.

Selection for August 18th will be: Breakfast with Buddha by Roland Merullo. We voted on this for our next read - everyone browsed Willow Bookstore after our discussion and came back to our table with their choice for next month's book. Two in the group came back with the same book, so that's the book we chose! Here's part of the Amazon review: "Otto Ringling is your typical American: upper middle class, happily married, one boy, one girl, one decent-paying job. House, picket fence, nine yards of the "whole" variety. But Otto's in store for an atypical ride when his "New Age" sister, Cecilia, asks that he allow a guru named Rinpoche to ride shotgun with him from Jersey to North Dakota. On the Road (sorry, Jack), we're treated to all manner of fun and games, both physical and verbal. If you like philosophy or religion, if you are middle-aged and have given any thought to that Mortality fellow creeping up behind you, or if you have ever asked the clichd question, "What's the meaning of life, anyway?" then this is a book for you. Sounds interesting, doesn't it? I hope everyone in the group can make it next time...we had such an interesting discussion, and so many great points of view. Everyone contributed to the discussion, and I think everyone enjoyed. See you August 18th! Hope you enjoy the book :-) Roxy

If you love folk music or just plain good music, do not miss this concert! Kallet, Epstein and Cicone have been performing together in concerts, coffeehouses and festivals since 1981. The trio performs music both a cappella and accompanied by guitar and hammered dulcimer, drawing their material from contemporary and traditional music of the British Isles and North America. By many accounts, this group is comprised of three of the finest folk singers of our generation, and they have performed to adoring (yes, adoring) audiences throughout the U.S. for many years. The Boston Globe's Scott Alarik has described them as "the best-kept secret in the New England folk scene," with "rich harmonies and inviting melodies," and the Boston Herald describes their music as "sheer beauty," and "technically elegant," that "summons up visions of a more simple, certain time." "Their work is a healthy mix of the heavenly and the earthbound," says Martha Waide, LITMA News. "Their heart-wrenching airs of beauty, love and loss are delicately balanced with gritty tunes of social or political concerns or songs of earthy everyday life." The South Acton Congregational Church's simple sanctuary, constructed by unemployed shipbuilders in the late 1800's, provides a perfect acoustic venue for this performance.
Church is handicapped accessible, with nearby parking. Appropriate for all ages.
